Man, I feel bad for you guys that didn't get to see the "Golden Days" of drag racing. Here's the "Untouchable" and the "Valkerie" jets raising the noise level a whole bunch. Those things really did make some racket. Nothing was as crazy as the jet dragsters...

Das bei uns in der Schweiz nahe Bern in Schönbühl im Jahre 1982
übrigens das erste Dragrace in der Schweiz

Da wurde ein Stück der Autobahn gesperrt und umfunktioniert zum Dragstrip. Das waren noch Zeiten wo man für solche Anlässe was getan hat. Heute kann man froh sein wenn man ein normales Treffen veranstalten darf

















Der Firebird gehörte einem Kollegen. Mittlerweile fährt er sowas auf dem Strip

Bei mir in der Nähe haben sie das letzte mal vor gut sieben oder acht Jahren auch ein Stück neu fertig gestellte Autobahn für ein Wochenende für viertel Meile Rennen zur Verfügung gestellt.

Quasi als Eröffnungsfeier!

War ne coole Sache.Aber wie schon gesagt wurde, kommt sowas wohl inzwischen auch nicht mehr vor...
